Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 August 2026

This policy explains what Calculator Pro (calculator-pro.org) collects when you use the site, why it is collected, how long it is kept and how to have it removed. It is written to meet Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and includes the additional rights available to visitors in the European Economic Area and California.

1. Who is responsible

Calculator Pro operates this website and decides how personal information here is handled. For any privacy question or request, including access and deletion, use the contact form. Please write "Privacy request" in your message so it is routed correctly. Requests are answered within 30 days.

2. Using the calculators does not require an account

Every calculator on this site works without signing in and without giving an email address. An account is optional and exists only to save a favourites list.

3. What is collected

3.1 Information you provide

WhenWhat is storedWhy
You submit the contact form Your name, email address, message, IP address and the time of submission To reply, and to detect automated abuse of the form
You create an account Username and a bcrypt hash of your password. The password itself is never stored To sign you in
You save a favourite Your username and the address and name of the saved calculator To show your favourites list

3.2 Calculator inputs

Values you type into a calculator are processed to produce your result. Some calculators place those values in the page address — for example a height and weight in a BMI result link — so the result can be bookmarked or shared.

⚠️ Health and personal figures can appear in page addresses. Values such as weight, height, pregnancy dates and salary may form part of a result URL. Those addresses are recorded in ordinary web-server logs and in the analytics services described below. If you would prefer a figure not to be recorded that way, avoid saving or sharing that link, and use a private browsing window.

3.3 Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this site records technical information sent by your browser:

  • IP address, browser type and version, operating system and device type
  • The pages you visit, the time of the visit and the page that referred you

4. Cookies and similar technologies

CookiePurposeDuration
CalcProAuth Keeps you signed in. Marked HttpOnly so it cannot be read by page scripts. Set only if you create an account Up to 30 days
Session cookie Maintains state within a single visit Until you close the browser
Analytics cookies Set by the third-party services in section 5 Set by those providers

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them does not stop any calculator from working; it only prevents you staying signed in.

5. Third-party services

These services receive data about your visit and act as independent controllers of it:

ServiceWhat it doesTheir policy
Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics Measures which pages are visited and how visitors reach the site policies.google.com/privacy
Microsoft Clarity Records how pages are used, including session replay and heatmaps — mouse movement, scrolling and clicks. Keystrokes in form fields are masked by Clarity's default settings privacy.microsoft.com
Advertising partners Serve the advertising that funds the site, and may set their own cookies to limit repeat ads and measure performance Named in the consent notice shown by the ad provider

These providers may process data outside Canada, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers rely on the provider's own safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses. Your personal information is not sold.

6. How long data is kept

  • Contact form messages — kept while the enquiry is open and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted on request
  • Account data — kept until you ask for the account to be deleted
  • Analytics data — kept according to the retention period set by each provider

7. Your rights

Under PIPEDA you may ask what personal information is held about you, ask for corrections, and withdraw consent. If you are in the EEA or the UK, the GDPR additionally gives you rights to erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and a right to complain to your data protection authority. If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA give you rights to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale or sharing — and, as stated above, personal information is not sold.

To exercise any of these, use the contact form. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

8. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them. If you believe a child has provided personal information here, contact us and it will be deleted.

9. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes, never in readable form, and the authentication cookie is marked HttpOnly. No online service can promise perfect security, but access to stored data is limited to what is needed to run the site.

10. Changes to this policy

Any change is published on this page with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page.

11. Contact
